Rearing traditional and ornamental hens on free range
I started Harmony Poultry over two years ago to try to make my 30 year
passion for poultry into a small rural business . There have been a few set
backs but lots of fun to get here, but I am succeeding in my goal to show
customers the great variety of poultry. It is also worth pointing out that they
can be a pet that actually pays it's way in these hard times
.
Another
objective is to keep some of the rarer breeds alive for the future. I have
travelled a few miles to source some stock but it has been
worthwhile.
The main chickens reared are Light Sussex. They
are attractive, productive and very hardy. I also have dark brown egg
layers like Welsummers etc during the year.
If there is something
you particularly want please ask, as I may be able to find it .
For 2011 i will be hatching some Large Blue and
Buff Orpingtons and hatching eggs from them all .
Also this year i
have hatched some Salmon Wyandotte Bantam`s bred from Pure German lines rare in
this country .
I am also excited to have a nice Quartet of
Columbian Brahma`s .
All birds I rear are allowed access outside from around 5 weeks of age
making them hardy and healthy.
Please fill in the
contact form with details or i can not reply ,
THANKS
